Presenting a side-comic

For the month of August, I decided to update with an uncolored side-comic of The War of Winds, giving me a break from the art of the most recent story arc. Not Alone is a story that details the origin of Relan (“Re-lawn”), a character that will appear in Chapter 10 of TWoW. This side-comic takes place 4 years before the current story.

The story proper will continue starting in September, when I finish Not Alone, which is scripted for 16 pages.  If you’re interested, you can read the side-comic here.

New logo?

I’ve been tinkering around in my mind about needing a new logo for Nahast.  Something bolder, a bit more dynamic. The current logo doesn’t scale down well, becoming unreadable in small banners and buttons. So I threw this together. Opinions?

SpiderForest Swimsuit Wallpapers!

Heroines in swimsuits!

Heroines in swimsuits!

Doing the epic thing leaves little time to relax, but this summer there was some free time laying around…

I always missed this kind of events over at KeenSpace on account of never checking the forums in time, and this year summer ALMOST went by as well, so I conned a couple of SpiderForest fellows into joining the fun and make a wallpaper with each of our protagonists in a relaxing, swimsuit scene… So, let the fun begin!

(Yyyyeah… I may have been the one to suggest it but I’m the last to finish his piece… but it’s here! Click on the image for the full size!)

Up and running

I’m officially a member of the team now, times two! I finally have my site redone and completely switched to Spider Forest, as well as officially joined Palace in the Sky. And all just in time for my birthday! Though the best present will be getting to not worry about php and html tomorrow. Thank you very much KEZ, Ran and MV for all your help. I would be lost without you.

Go EE, after 5 years finally on a nicer server, and in about 50 comics will reach the 1000 mark. A good year indeed!

On the progression in technology….

While doing some tests for a project I’m involved with, I got thinking about the progression of 3d stuff for the hobbyist.  So as a way of putting things into contrast, I’m going to put up three images, two from 2005 and one from 5 minutes ago.  The first two are from Keenspace Summer, and Keenswim from back then…

And now for five minutes ago…

Things have sure come a long way in 3-4 years haven’t they?

The marathon is over…

Things have been a little quiet from me over the last week or so, but I’ve been on a comic making marathon over the last three days.  6 comics total knocked out since 1:30AM Friday morning.

In the middle of it all, I ran into a couple of panels from Thursday and Friday of this week that I wanted to share with you all.

Every once in a while you get really lucky with how something you see in your head comes out on to the screen.  And frankly, I just love these two panels :)

Later.

Gone and Done it.

Well, I’ve gone and done. Prior to this year (before any kind of steady income), I had never before bought graphic novels or comics. When I could read them for free online, there wasn’t much incentive, y’know? But when I finally had some spending money, I thought and thought about how I could show my appreciation to my favorite webcomickers. I mean, since I make my own webcomic, I REALLY understand how time-consuming, and pain-staking making comics is, and I also understand how little a webcomicker often receives either in the way of money or in encouragement. The internet is a hard place to set up shop.

So, I bought Katie Sweet’s Juathuur Vol 1 through Indyplanet. It turned out awesome! This was one I’ve always wanted to have in print.

I just pre-ordered Gunnerkrigg Court Vol 1 through Amazon today.

In Barnes and Noble, I couldn’t believe it, Terry Brooks had a graphic novel out–the Dark Wraith of Shannara. It’s quite fab, though a little expensive for a paperback :/ I don’t regret the buy though!

Lastly, I’m totally hooked on DJ Coffman’s Hero by Night, and ordered his volume 1 through HeavyInk. It’s hardcover, with GREAT colors and is very high quality. I am quite saddened by his latest blog post though! His stuff is awesome, and I do hope he gets the chance to continue making it!

I also have a Wowio account and download all the webcomic volumes to help their creators out.

I hope to start a collection of ALL of these^^ It feels good supporting the work of those who make great stuff!
